Families (Multi-Show)

Group performers who attend together so the optimizer keeps them on the same days.

What's a Family?

A family is any set of performers you'd like to keep on the same days β€” literal siblings, parent-child pairs, carpool friends, or any other "they attend together" relationship.

Why It Matters

When ShowSort assigns routines to performances, family members might naturally land on different days based on which routines they're in. That's a logistical headache for one car arriving with siblings who need to be there at different times. Families tells the optimizer to try harder to keep them together.

Creating a Family

In the Families panel, click Add Families and select the performers who belong together. Give the family a name if you like.

How Firm Is the Rule?

Families is a goal, not an absolute rule β€” ShowSort tries hard to keep them together but won't break the show to do it. If family members are in routines that fundamentally have to land on different days, you might still see them split. Bump the priority to High to lean harder on the goal.

Priority

Families has its own on/off and priority setting in the panel, just like the other multi-show goals. Set it to High if keeping families together is a top concern at your studio.
