Appearance Matrix (Multi-Show)

A grid showing which performers are in which performances β€” perfect for spotting over- and under-commitments.

What It Is

The Appearance Matrix is a visual grid: performers down the rows, performances across the columns. Cells show whether (and how heavily) each performer is in each show.

It's only available for multi-show productions.

Why It's Useful

Multi-show casting is a balancing act. The matrix makes it instantly visible when:

  • A performer is in all three performances but the others are in only one (over-committed)
  • A performer is in zero shows (mistake?)
  • One performance is much heavier than another

How to Read It

Each cell shows the number of routines that performer is in for that show. Empty cells mean the performer isn't in that show at all.

Available Formats

PDF and Excel. The Excel version is especially useful β€” you can sort and filter to dig into specific patterns.

Pair It With Balance

The matrix tells you who is over- or under-committed. The Balance section visualizes the overall workload distribution, helping you see whether the show as a whole is balanced. Use both.
